Abusing Human Growth Hormone for Body Building
In the body there is a pea sized organ below the brain. It is called the pituitary gland which produces the Human Growth Hormone (HGH) responsible for almost all the major functions of the body. It is one of the most important hormones in the body. The HGH production is at its maximum at the time of adolescence but gradually decreases as we age. At around 40 this hormone production is too low. This is the main reason for ageing. As a result we need to increase our intake of HGH. But these HGH treatments have some severe side effects too. If not taken carefully HGH supplements can cause hypertension, carpel tunnel syndrome, swelling in joints, fluid retention in body, excessive sweating and blood sugar increase.
Human growth hormone has been seen to be abused commonly in the field of body building as it is supposed to enhance energy levels, cut fat and build lean muscle mass. But too mush intake of HGH can cause Acromegaly. It is a condition characterized by the overgrowth of connective tissues and bones that leads to a protruding eyebrows and jaw, abnormally large hands and feet and over growth of internal organs. It also increases the risk of cancer.
